I painted our coach in the driveway. It won't win any awards
but looks a heck of a lot better than it did.

If I were doing it again, I'd go with just a single stage urethane
paint and not even try to do a clear coat. When I was
spraying the clear, it seemed like every bug for miles came to
the party in droves, even bugs I've never seen before or since.
Stick with solid colors for most of it (not metallics/pearls)
and it'll be a LOT easier both to do and to repair.

Cost was about $1k. I used single stage urethane and then in a fit
of insanity decided to go ahead and put a clear coat over it.
I got the clear from Southern Polyurethane after having a bad
experience with Summit Racing's high solids clear (turned REALLY
yellow after a few months).

If I recall, I used 2.5 gallons of primer, half a gallon of epoxy
primer (for bare metal), 3 gallons of single stage urethane (plus activator,
so really about 4 gallons), and about 1.5 quarts for the accent strip.
It took me three solid months of labor to do (mostly prep), and had
to be sprayed in summer on non-windy days (ie prime camping weather).

As others here have said, break it up into sections. My biggest
mistake was trying to do too big an area at one time. Divide
it into at least three parts -- eg roof, front and one side, rear
and the other side.

hope that helps.
