Not to be showing off or anything -- but, I just uploaded a paint scheme I
had done a few months ago but never released to the public. Some of you
won't like it. Some of you might. It's on the controversial side, especially
when you read my comments. By the way, it is a big departure from my normal
style. Once in a while I try the "big rig" approach just to tell myself why
I don't like big swipes. However, this one catches my eye because it would
be a great paint job for tail gating. I wouldn't want to ride in it in the
summer, however, unless the colors were changed a great deal.

Byron, you knocked that one out of the park! Fan-friggin-tastic. I don't
get too excited over what is essentially a protective coating, but this one
I really like.

I've gotten a few private emails on this one. None of them of the hate
variety, I might add. However, no one put it quite like this.
I've experimented with a monochromatic theme of more subtle colors and it
looks just as nice. I think it looks more modern without looking like
"swashes and swoops for the sake of swashes and swoops". Some of the paint
jobs I've seen on the big rigs fits that category -- no rhyme or reason. As
I told Gary Bovee, I did think a lot and put the curves and all based on my
own rules that I produced a few years ago. Things don't go places just to go
there, they are placed for a reason with an awareness of what's around them.
That's what you have to do to make the GMC's own body shape show through.
The GMC has such character that it's a sin to not pay attention to it and
honor it.

Wow, I wasn't expecting a Motor Trend review. Thanks for the feedback.
If you squint just right you can see the highway coming over the hill (from
the rear), then the on ramp merges with the road as it comes on forward
ending at the base of the body between the door and the helm.
Of course, if you squint too much you see fuzzy stuff.
Great description, Michael.
This design grew on me. It's a good derivation of my St. Louis Blues design
which took the totally horizontal look and placed a downward sweep of "nose
to the wind and feet on the track" sort of angularity to it. It doesn't rob
the character of the GMC's design but compliments it, IMHO.
