The article on the value of a used motorhome is well thought out and well written. As an old motor homer, as I know many of you are also, I would like to add a few thoughts. First, of course, is brand new vs old. The first few years of a motor homes life are full of gremlins but a new warranty will take care of most if not all of them. But the gremlins (yes, they still exist) found in an older motor home are now on the owner. But beyond that rather obvious point, there is the reason for owning a motor home. How will it be used? My GMC is used for traveling to sporting events. So, I don't want a big one because parking can be a real problem. Next is what amenities are needed. Are you going to cook, take along kids and grand kids or stay somewhere for an extended time? Lastly, I would add the joy of driving a classic. Car nuts are a breed of their own. So are most GMC owners. We put up with the minor problems associated with age in order to have the thrill of getting behind the wheel of a classic. When the above items are placed in the equation, the cost, depreciation and yes even the cost of repairs do not have so much importance.
