OK, to Orlando and the Eukanba/AKC dog championships.  As to the dog portion, I can report Double Ring Chestnut Mountain's JazzMan (my youngster) came in second each day.  The fifty - times Best In Show boy with whom we were competing however, was next to last.  I'll add, his breeders were the Working Dog Breeders of the Year, no mean accomplishment, and one of our boys, Pilot, won the AKC ACE award for Service.  All three of these accomplishments were firsts for the breed.  BWDs ruled!

As to the GMC.  Ran  like a top as it usually does for 900 odd miles.    We stayed at the Lake Louisa State Park, a typical - very nice - Florida State Park for 25 bux a night.  Site I got even had sewer hookups.  For next year, if they're finished, Wekiwa Springs will have sewer at all sites.  Plus new roads.  The Toadstone performed flawlessly, got us to the show and back each day, with side trips to Publix and WalMart.

We did have two minor little problems occur - the front brakes decided to go Dixie on me about ten miles from the park entrance.  I discovered this as we topped a hill on US 27 and saw the tableau of wadded vehicles and the medevac copter strewn about the highway in front of us.  Stomp the pedal, got a red BRAKE light, minor slowing, and skids from all four rears.  Fortunately, we did get stopped before we added to the carnage.  As an aside, once the flat spots get out of sync, they aren't so bad to ride home on.

The rear reservoir (front brakes) was empty.  I filled it, we've no leaks.  I can get a bit of high pedal and have the warning light go out by pumping oonly the first half of the pedal travel... past that, it is lost until the rears clamp down.  My take on it is, the level has lowered due to front pad wear, until the reservoir was empty.  Then we got a touch of air in the master cylinder bore, and rusted up the top of the bore to the front.  I think a new master cylinder will correct the problem.  And a set of pads, these are close to the end of their service life.  And a 'note to self', these things wear the front pads even faster than my Mopar minivans!

Other problem was the oil guage.  I fired her off at a fuel stop on the way south and viola!  Super oil pressure.  As soon as you crank it, the guage hits max.  I have another sender new in the box, I'll replace it and see what happens.

Unfortunately, the need to drive home 480 miles sans reasonable brakes precluded a side trip to Albany tio pick up the spare parts there.  I'm trying to get someone to run over there before the lady moves and see what she's got.  I felt the saftest thing in the rain sans binders was to soldier on upon the freeway and hope for the best.

Johnny,

What's that about Albany? You know I'm only 37 miles away & go there
fairly freqently (it's the closest place with anything other than WalMart).
