So far the lady has given me a phone number which has the voicemail unset - smacks of a prepaid cell.  Hasn't given me an address to look at the coach, only 'there are big dogs there', and doesn't answer emails any more.  Oh and also has jacked the price.  I'm beginnig to think 'scam' here.   Sammy, did you get an address from her?  Supposedly the coach is in Barnett Shoals, GA southeast of Watkinsville.  Mapquest's sattelite images don't show anything I or George Z can find.  Associated name is Vimi Hernandez who lives in Lawrenceville and has English as a second or subsquent language.  Failing any reply this weekend, we'll write this one off.

RV and ATV scams are big on CL and you're right to give it the sniff test.

One exploit is to say the unit is in storage and try to get a deposit to hold it. Then the seller tries to work the buyer into more front money while having problems showing it. Usually, these are too-good-to-be-true priced items. And they tend to drop any local buyers fairly quickly.

One big RV craigslist scam happened here in coastal NC about 2 years ago. In this case, the seller actually showed the unit, took a deposit, then pulled up camp and disappeared.

When I'm getting serious about an online classified, I run it through several searches. In the case of the Sarasota Royale, the seller was also selling some cheap household items on other concurrent ads, that made it look like it was legit.

Hi!
I never received an address, the person quit responding all of a sudden,
and just "fell off the earth."

Here is how it works.
Cash talks.
B S walks.
We have a studio for rent.
The emails I get from all over are some thing.
Can't spell..
But will tell me how wonderful they are and how they would like me for a
room mate.
Then will ask for my personal information.
Wrong!
I hit block.
I don't need a room mate.
I have one and have had one for 41 plus years.
Susie is the best.

It is OK to crack a scammer with a baseball bat isn't it, as long as it is
only once or twice? We have an unofficial rule here in Canada, but it has
to be a hockey stick and above the shoulders! <VBG>
