Greetings, I just wanted to share with you a wonderful opportunity here
in Austin. The big F1 race is coming to the new track called the Circuit
of the Americas. My group is tasked with making sure the main video feed
is up and working. While I was installing the circuit I got a chance to
drive the service road and I found a long row of RV pads, the guy giving
me the tour said they go for about $10,000 a day. I bet a classic GMC
would look great out there on opening day!

Not only that, but parked between SOBs, you wouldn't see anything sitting on the roof of your GMC anyway. Confused

Besides, I don't have enough roof space left to put chairs up there anyway (two A/C units, two fans plus a storage pod).

So sadly, I'll have to pass on the opportunity...

As a longtime race fan, I was excited to see the F1 Grand Prix come back to America, and I'm always in favor of having another racetrack.

However, the prices of tickets and camping are quite crazy for this event. I'm all in favor of these events making money, but they don't have to pay the entire project off from this race.

Looks like it's time to fire up the TV and watch for free. I would have loved to be there, but it's not quite like Watkins Glen back min the 70s!

George, the dog show game has the same problem - at least for exhibitors.  If I wanna park my coach at the Eukanuba and its attendant allbreed shows, they want $675, for a 20 foot wide space, coach length.  In an asphalt parking lot with no room.   By comparison, full hookup at Clemson is $30 a night.  Plenty o room.  Anyway, for the Euk, I booked into Lake Louisa State Park.  It's 25  night.  I suspect for the $550 difference I can buy beaucoup diesel oil for the Toadstone and park it daily for $5.   Last year I stayed at Wekiwa Springs State Park which is a couple of miles closer, this year they werent taking reservations cos they were doing road maintenance.  50x100 lot, fire pit, picnic table, water n power, dump station around the corner (with working cleanout faucet, etc.) and really nice folks in the park - all of whom thought the BWD was Truly Suave.  Urinate on Orlando and The Mopuse, the State of Florida gets my loot.

Loved Wekiwa when the wife I went a few years ago. Most of the FL State Parks are just incredible. They do an excellent job maintaining them and the camping areas get a lot of use so they get a lot of attention. The online registration system is nice as well. You really can't go wrong. I will say that the Wekiwa Springs are really nice to dip into in the summer, but we went in the winter. The water was the same temp as it is year round, but I was the only one brave enough to get in when the air temps were in the 50s.

I just wanted to say I had done it!
