Since we've pushed our trip till next month we decided that I'd have time to replace the pretty well used carpet on the steps and drivers area (and just a little in the hall). Also I need to pull the drivers side panel to get to the rubber gas fill lines to stop the fumes..

Found some nice carpet, got my son to come over and we pulled the seats and DAVO out. The carpet and pad is out too and now I'm pulling about 10 million staples out one at a time.

There's nothing quite as glamorous as owning a 35 year old RV, is there? Cool

But the good thing is, we're driving rigs that are worth the effort, and that will be worth something in 10 (or 20 or ???) years, so the work we do today isn't flushed down the can when the body crumbles to white powder like most SOBs.

I used out door carpet and did the house, while the cabs carpet is newer I think I'll be in the same boat replacing it soon.

For the fuel smell..... Just get a really giant air fresher!!! Lol, jk

Kerry

If you have not already done so -- search cockpit carpet on the photo site -- it brings up albums by Kelvin and Rick D among others, and they have some unique features on their carpet install.

And -- maybe Gene will tell us about the new gas fill vent tube from Bert & Faye ---
