I was outside playing with my toys today and i thought well i need to take the GMC out for a run and when i went to get in the drivers seat i looked at the new cracks in my headliner that weren't ther last week. Anybody have this happen to them that fast. At this time of year maybe????? Whats the fix? Is there one? Anyone got a spare?

I think it's just age that's made the plastic brittle. You can try to reinforce it after taking it down, but that may actually make it crack more.
This would be a nice item to have replicated in fiberglass. Unfortunately, shipping would be a bear!

I have seen photos of a few that were covered with headliner or similar material. Some commented on difficulty in achieving good adhesion.

Dennis,
We have some excellent upholstery shops in my part of NC. I had my headliner recovered with a material like GM pickups use in the overhead. It is white and has been there over 10 years and still looks good. If it goes bad, I will do the same thing over again. The headliner was out about 3 days. He also recovered the speaker and light panels on the driver and passenger side. I have had no problem with adhesion.

Took the headliner out from front to back, and covered in Armorshield, then painted with blue elastermer paint. Next week I'm spray panting clouds so it looks like the sky!
