How could the rear suspension pre-date the GMC Motorhome? My fist thought was that this was the Pie Wagon, but it looks totally different. The front end shows some real sophistication, but the layout looks very GMC.
Any ideas where this came from? I had thought someone had put a new body on a burned coach, but that wouldn’t account for the nice front end.

You can see why this coach is "one of a kind".... ugly! It does look a bit Clark Cortez.

As a guess, I would say it was built sometime after GMC's (ad says mid '70's) using some parts from a wreaked/scrapped coach, but with the engine/trans from a 1971 Olds Toronado.

Larry,
I don't know why they tagged it as a 1971 motor home but in the description
it said "This is a 2-owner unit custom-built in Montana in the mid-1970’s"
so it would be possible to use the GMC rear suspension.
