Saw this ad on Nashville Craigslist:

In case it is gone, this is the text:

1977 GMC. 59k Original miles on a 455 front wheel drive engine. Negotiable on price. Would also entertain interesting trades. Prefer cars from the '70's. Take a look at the pics & email if interested. Thanks! This is a Royale by Coachmen GMC. Was just appraised for $20k. NO LOW BALL OFFERS! Research these units before you make an offer.

Talked to the owner because we were looking for a twin bed dry bath coach. Asked all the right questions. Interior was fine, gorgeous coach, drive anywhere. So today the wife and I drove up to Nashville to check it out. Beautiful day for a drive which was good because the coach was a disappointment.

All the photos are here: http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g6218-nashville-royale.html but some are posted below.

Doesn't look too bad. Faded paint with the drivers side lower repainted.

More photos on the GMC photo site but you get the idea. The owner said he has never used the plumbing...ever.. and has no idea if it works. He only sleeps in it plugged into shore power. Generator runs but the starter battery is bad and he's never tried to run the AC from it. Roof AC works. We didn't drive it but the motor sounds good, new 16.5" Firestones.

After we told the owner we were going to pass I asked him if he wanted to know what I saw as issues. He said yes and I went on to say the interior was basically a gut. Plumbing was a total unknown and if pipes frozen could be a significant issue. Heater an unknown, leaks in roof. Upholstery and carpet was a disaster. Generator unknown. Little maintenance and no upgrades done. In other words a major project of a desirable coach model but not worth the 10K he was asking. He went on to say that he would take 5K.

Owners name is Jeff and he can be reached at six 1 five - four four zero- 194nine. Nice guy. Not mechanically inclined per his own words.
