I am on a learning curve that seems to be in the vertical position.
We had the rear brakes replaced in Gettysburg. The young mechanic seemed to
know what he was doing. two days ago we were in south Arizona and found it
more difficult to stop smoothly. There was a slight pulsing in the brake
pedal. I knew something was not right. The passenger side rear drum was hot
while the others were warm. Got into phoenix and could hear noises coming
from the rear. Problem . The guy did not tighten the drum on enough and
when opened up the one spring had broken and shoes coming apart. Took shoes
and assembly out and capped brake line. Checked other 3 rear drums and all
needed slight tightening. There is a right way to tighten the drums on.
Going to have disc brakes installed at Jim Hupy's.
