Ken
You may have answered this before, if so sorry
I am curious on what you do to winterize yours. My winters are not as cold as your, but mine sits outside instead of protected by a hanger.
Thanks bgk

Winterization beats chasing pipe breaks. Believe me, I've done that task.
You need to get the water out of the entire system, as much as possible. Use air to blow the lines clear, drain the hot water heater, drain the water tanks, black tank, put RV antifreeze in all the drains, filling the traps.
Remove the batteries and fully charge them. Store out of the weather, and even put a trickle charger on each battery. Do not strap the batteries together.
Change the engine oil, and grease the 17 grease fitting.
A novel way that I drained my water line, including the hot water heater used one of the vacuum devices from HFC. Connecting on side to the hot water heater drain, opening all the faucets, connecting an air compressor to the other side and run the compressor. Produces a partial vacuum that will remove all the water in the system. I let mine run overnight.
Wash and wax the coach if it has a good paint job. Mine is marginal.
Place blocks under the boogies (wooden 4x4 stacked), and reduce the air pressure in the air bags, allowing the boggles to rent on the blocks and take the load off the air bags and tires.
Do this in a logical order. I just started writing as I was inspired. Others will add additional tasks I am sure.

Close enough, Joe, yours and ours, that was 2 for Alebamy, today. We're
in Florida now, though.
Any more ready to chime in?
preferably in larger numbers, though.

Functional enough to drive somewhere, even if it's not a long trip.
Currently licensed might be a useful number, but the privacy laws put the
kibosh on using State records for that purpose.
I'm looking for a number to use as an example of what the chances were
that it that was US they saw last week in Podunk Iowa.
Oh, yeah, and bragging rights for longevity.
We've located over 8500 (I think) of the 12,000 some that were built, but
I know that some of those are defunct, or no longer in existence.

With this in mind, I'll say only
> <1% GMC motorhomes are "still on the road".
That one won't fly, Mel, I've seen more than that parked at a GMCWS
rally, and a bunch of folks complaining that they wanted to go to that
rally, but were at another one at that time.
Maybe what I need is a total number of GMC club members. That might be a
ballpark figure for coach population. Some of them don't have coaches,
but some have more than one that is functional.

Total number of members of clubs won't get it. Most are members of multiple
clubs. At one time JR Slayton belonged to more GMC clubs than he had
fingers.

I do not care how cold it gets where you are, if it goes much below 32 F. you need to do something to the on board water system.
I go to the city water fill and attach an air hose. You can get the adapter at most any RV place and I have also seen them at Walmart. I blow out ALL of the lines using about 40 PSI air. Then while the water system is still under pressure I blow out the water heater tank by opening the drain. When the water coming out turns to air you know it is empty. It is not unusual to get a little bit of crud in the tank drain and have it block up with nothing coming out. If that happens go to the outside where the drain terminates and blow air backwards with the drain open to clear the crud. Then it should drain.
I have a bypass valve on my water heater that I turn to block any system water from entering it. Then I fill the water system with RV antifreeze and run it through the lines. I run each water tap until it runs pink and that then fills all of the drain traps. Finally I save a little antifreeze and pour it down the shower drain. All of this takes one gallon of RV antifreeze.
Finally, I change oil and filter no matter what the mileage has been.
All of the other stuff Tom mentioned like grease etc. should be done.
I leave the water tank, the black tank, and the heater tank drains open and drive the coach 11 miles to its winter parking place.

In AZ I do the exact same thing as I do in the summer as I do in the winter. Spend money on it, start it to bring the beast alive and smell the horrible exhaust smell.
Other then that all the windows are open and while I'm at the office I tend to lay on the couch and dream about how in the world I'm going to ever fix the ceiling after I ripped it all out with a hammer.

We have been on the road since Aug 6. First from the west coast of Canada
to the tip of Newfoundland. Then down the upper easterm states incl a drive
through the Bronx, New York City and through the Holland tunnel. Then
Gettysburg, Dollywood, Nashville, New Orleans, Galveston, now on Phoenix.
Once nack home we will have covered 15,000 miles.
Loving the journey.
