I put in the GMC photo site some pictures of R-D's service center, and the lead mech there. Also some of the Cone 9 Creek RV park just off I 20 in Heflin, AL. Nice small park, frendly faces and nice sites. It's about halfway between Birmingspam andAtlanta, and if you're travelling I - 20 it keeps you from having to negotiate both cities in one day.
I got the seal party pics, Ill try to post them this evening.

Take a close look - he's got several more. Plus, that Earnhardt assumed room temperature some years ago.

You're in the right bisniss. Jest point your GMC toward Louisville and you
can groom our English Cockers anytime you want.
And what's the fun in having someone else show your dogs? I've never
figured that out. Same goes for horses -- ride your own.
That reminds me. About twelve years ago I was hanging out around the
warm-up ring for the horse show at the KY State Fair when I struck up a
conversation with William Shatner. We talked about horses. He didn't ride.
He was showing his with a sulky. He owns some championship stock.

I'm not in the binniss, I just show my own.  And I haven't done the Louisville shows for a couple of years, the 'hassle factor' got too high. Grooming a Kuvasz is enough of a hassle for me, E-Cs are lovely but it takes a hell of an effort to get them lovely and keep them that way.. I understand the 'pay somebody' approach, it equates out to 'win at any cost' for the owner... who is often a Park Avenue dowager needing bragging rights for something and the dog gets the nod. I follow the Catherine Coile approach - my boys are pets who sometimes get to go to shows. The GMC isn'r really suited for a pro - about two dogs and two people fill it.
For those of you not conversant with the dog show genre, it is the only sport whre the rank amatuer (me) goes head - to - head with the zillionaire professional. And, since the interest is the dog, not the handler, it ain't uncommon at all for my guy to win.Â
It's a lot like RVing in the GMC - keep your sense of perspective and it's fun.
Bring yours to Purina for the Gateway Cluster next May, I'll be there.

I doubt the price was 'beyond'. Those folks do all right. Lookit my Cane 9 Creek album on the photosite - Rhanda didn't buy that Phaeton from pushing cookies about... and she's not a superstar, just a journeyman handler.
I find it a travesty that Missus didn't want the dog in the house - at that point, give it to the handler. Keep breeding rights if you wish.

Byron,
I like you can't figure that one out.
I knew of (did work for) a couple that had three show dogs. The dogs lived with the handler. They only saw them at shows, so they could get pictures taken when they won. When they were at the home, you could tell all the dogs knew the handler was "Mommy". When one of the dogs was retired from showing and they brought her home, Misses was not at all pleased with the "Having the messy dog in house thing". The asking price was way beyond the handler's means.
