Hi Emory,

The details are all spelled out on the GMCWS.ORG web site and will soon also be listed on the GMC Cacaders web site as well. A quick summary is that we will take over exclusive use of the 100+ full hookup spaces in the RV resort plus as much of the free dry camping that is immediately adjacent to the RV park as we need. We will also have exclusive use of both hotel ball rooms (one large ball room with a divider that can be pulled across to make two rooms). One will be where our hotel staff catered meals will be served and will be the home for the alternate seminar track. The other ball room will be home for our primary seminar track plus indoor display space as needed. Both spaces will be exclusively ours for the six days and five nights of the rally with 24 hour per day security. I did not inquire about use prior to the rally but the folks there are very accommodating. FMCA NW Region did a rally there earlier this summer (they took the 100+ full hook up spaces plus pu
t many, many coaches in dry camping) and both the FMCA folks and the attendees raved about the place and the attitudes of the people who work there.

The Yurt at the RV area is just a place to centralize our daytime and evening social activities and it can also be pressed into other service if we need it. Weather the first week in October is usually as it is right now - sunny and warm days with cool nights. Rain or drizzle is not uncommon, but usually holds off until about mid to late October. The vendor parking will be right around this Yurt space so the vendors can be sure to have lots of folks around all the time. If the weather does not cooperate then we can move the vendor displays indoors into the ball rooms as well. if we needed more indoor space there are five or six more meeting rooms of various sizes in the hotel that could be rented.

Attendees will have free on-demand use of the shuttle busses to take them anywhere they want to go within the Coos Bay area. Call and the bus will pick you up. Call again to have them bring you back home. Neat. Attendees will also have free key access to the indoor swimming pool, the exercise room and the two outdoor hot tubs overlooking all the boat traffic on Coos Bay. A special room rate of $89 (IIRC) is available for those wanting to stay in the hotel. There is so much to do and see along the Oregon coast that one could make a memorable trip just driving from one end of the coast to the other with Coos Bay about one third of the way up from the CA border. If it works out that Fleet Week (ships from around the world strutting their stuff in SF Bay plus the Blue Angels right over head of where we park on Treasure Island) gets scheduled for the second week in Oct. next year it would really be a memorable time for everyone.

I have negotiated tiered pricing that should fit most any budget or need. A two person coach with full hookups, all the meals and full rally facilities $360 to $370, two person coach in dry camping, all meals and full rally facilities $260 to $270, one person coach with full hookups, all meals and full rally facilities $260 to $270, one person coach in dry camping, all meals and full rally facilities $160 to $170. See the .pdf file on GMCWS.ORG for details on meals, tours, etc. We will also offer a weekender special for those members of any GMC club that can only be with us for Friday and Saturday nights, two person coach dry camping, full rally facilities, dinner Friday and breakfast Saturday plus the opportunity to join us for the Saturday Culinary School tour, wine and food event. One night will be "on your own dining" in one of the many restaurants associated with the hotel and casino plus great food in Coos Bay itself. Saturday night will be a big "surprise" party a
t the RV park that I will talk more about later. The hotel staff will cater three hot dinners, four Continental breakfasts and one hot breakfast in the ball room.

Should be a blast and not too far for you now that you are in your new CO digs (hint, hint). I might even try to press you into service giving a seminar or two!

Please tell us more, Jerry.

How many days are planned for the rally? Can it accommodate 200 or so coaches for a rally that would last 6 nights? Do they have buildings that can handle our seminars? Can we have the buildings for 5 or 6 days prior to the rally to set up? What is the cost per night for the camping? How many meals are planned? What is the cost for the meals and the rooms? 50 or 60 people in a social area seems way too small for a large group of 300 to 400 people. Are other areas also available?

You might want to pass the information on to the GMCM convention manager, Kim Weeks. I am sure that she would have a lot of other questions.
