I saw one on a SOB recently.

Then again on a GMC picture here.

I see lots of UK references, but I don't seem to see a USA importer.

Anyone familiar with this brand?

There was a group buy on these a while back. I have one on my 23' , good
awnings, but wind sensitive. They do not have the large aluminum roller that
helps stabilize them when the wind picks up. But an Omnistor looks a lot
better that a Zip Dee or regular awning with support arms in view.

Thanks

Dolph,

Several years ago I came within a half-breath of importing a few OmniStor
awnings from Belgium, with the cooperation of Marc Hogenboom, who had not
then moved to the US. At the last minute, Richard Floyd of Vancouver made
a deal with Carefree of Colorado, who purchased some of them awnings from
OmniStor. They imported the model I'd chosen for the GMC, including the
appropriate mounting rail, exclusively for him (us). As he accumulated
orders, they'd periodically include them in their shipping containers,
without fabric. They'd then install the selected American fabric and ship
the complete awning directly to the purchasers. That saved a lot on duties
and gave us a much wider selection of fabrics than available in Europe.

I don't think Richard is any longer fooling with them since he seldom shows
up here. But someone mentioned within the past week or so that they were
about to install one, so perhaps they are still available, perhaps via
another route.

Before selecting the OmniStor, I looked at the vertical box awnings (also
OmniStor) Carefree was selling, and at the Italian Fiamma. I've recently
seen similar awnings from Fiamma; you may want to check with them. I think
others may also now have more streamlined boxes similar to the OmniStor.

As Gary mentioned, the OmniStor is sensitive to winds, and is not the
easiest thing in the world to deploy alone -- but I much prefer it to any
alternative I've seen. Since I NEVER deploy ANY awning without immediately
tying it down to secure ground anchors, that weakness is not a problem for
me.
