so, been home 2 weeks
- moved the 23 out by the road in the carport a week ago,
- tried to steal my gas
- did not know you cannot do that on a GMC
- threw the cap in the bushes
- threw away the foam spacer
- went to my car (I forgot to lock)
- got 10 gal

not bad for 10 min work
10 gal at $4.40 a gal = $44

think I am in the wrong business

now to put a lock on the 23
do not want them to drop anything down the fill pipe.

My neighbors have a small pickup truck. There is usually a large can of gasoline in the back. Over the past couple of weeks, the can and the gas have been stolen twice.

There is a can of sugar and gasoline out there tonight just waiting for a stinking thief. I love it.

Back when I used to ride 2 strokes, we used to leave our gas can of
pre-mix in the back of the pickup when we had fueled our bikes. Had our gas
stolen several times when we rode in one area. Brought a "special" blend of
gasoline and food coloring, no oil. We caught the offending quad rider with
a seized motor quite a ways from the truck. He had a long push uphill back
to the parking area and a seriously seized motor. Never lost any more gas
cans or gas for that matter.

Gene,

I did that on The Blue Streak by drilling a hole in the gas door and fitting a lock like the one on the electrical cord storage
compartment.

Since Avions have the ski storage door I got three locks all that take the same key.

The only problem I see with this is some SOB is liable to tear the door off.

Hmmmm maybe a locking gas cap would be better?

Gene,

My coach used to go to Mexico. That is almost as bad as California. So, Everything Locks. If it can be stolen, it is locked on, this is a real PITA. If you want. I will look for a Stant number on the locking gas cap.

HEY! I got a better idea!

Make a fake gas filler near the back of the coach and plug it into the black tank! The thief will be up for a MAJOR surprise when he
tries to siphon out some gas!

Come to think of it IIRC that idea has been raised before!

Rob M.

Anyone who can convince three 100+pound BWDs that they belong in my yard can have the gas.
