Not everyone is into conventions and rallies, I realize that. But, Teri and I are social types and we love them. This one has been very well organized. We have had enough ice cream to make us sick three nights already. Many owners have had new windshields installed. There are planned discussions daily on how we can better keep up our old coaches. Front ends have been checked and alligned. The vendors have been great, lots of stuff. Personally, I have gotten to make a lot of new friends at this gathering. Sometimes folks come by the table when I have no time to visit but for the most part, there has been lots of free time so I can meet and visit with new attendees. I think we have 147 coaches and 17 of them are first timers. Many more have not been to a convention since we were here in 07. The weather has been almost perfect for this time of year. We did need heat two nights but we will not need any tonight. The flea market was a big hit today. Funny how one can move a few things from an inside table to the outside flea market and it sells fast.We have volunteers that give way more than anyone would ever expect. Some arrive a week early and stay a few days late to set up and take down for the rest of us. Ticket sales for the prizes are through the roof. Jim K. always donates the big prize. I enjoy working the table beside such a giving guy.
So, just a brief report on why life is good this week in Amana, Ia. Geocaching is big at the conventions too and I must thank my lovely bride for that. By the way, she will be able to get cheap coffee at Mc Donalds starting Sunday.
