Folks,
I just purchased a 1976 Eleganza II.
I look forward to meeting my fellow GMC owners at some future rally.
Might you be able to help me find the screen door I have seen on some motorhomes?
Thank you for your help and will see you soon.

Respectfully, O. 586.781.3331

Easy to install...yes, it took about 45 minutes. BUT, I spent two days adjusting it. The door is made for the "average" coach, but all of them have sagged different, so each install is different. A short coming of the door that I found was that the hinges are held to the door with two sheet metal screws on each hinge. All you need to do is remove and reinstall several times while doing adjustments and the screws will strip out. I had to reinforce the inside and outside of the door with some aluminum bar stock and 1/4" bolts at the hinges for it to hold up to use. Otherwise the door is a GREAT door. We love it!!

2 days adjusting the door? That's not bad, I think adjusting a Birch Door takes
about 2 weeks ! LOL

Why GM designed a motor home without a screen door is beyond me !

You answered your own question!

Because it takes two weeks to adjust it! ;-)

Mark,

First,
Welcome to the group/family/cult/asylum

Second,
This list/forum is can be read by anybody and unfortunately this can include spambots and other nefarious elements. This makes it a bad idea to put out any phone numbers or @ddress as plain read.

You will find a lot of help here, just ask. To assist those that might of assistance or advice, it is best to put in a sig file with basic information: Identification, coach type and year and a geographic reference - Like

Last, I found that these coaches are far more than just some other toy. It is much more like the relation that a waterman has with his boat. Therefore, I feel it requires a welcome that is more in line with the situation. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that setforth within her.
