Dan,

I called Frank yesterday and he's bringing a couple of two hole grills to Amana for me; I reckon those will look REALLY nice with
the stainless steel woven wire at a 45 degree angle in them and

G
M
C

Down the center!

I was going to make up a 1/4" thick surround to weld the wire too but I think this will look better. My only problem is that where
the grille fits on to Double Trouble is not flat, on both sides it's curved top to bottom. In the middle of both sides it's curves
outwards (convex).

Regards,
Rob M.

Keith,
I'm thinking you could sell a bunch of those if it comes out nice! If I scraped the money together, I'd be in for one. I like that look a lot.

Have you checked with Manny lately, as of last November he decided not
to make any more.

quote title=mannystrans wrote on Mon, 14 November 2011 15:50]

Over 60 were built and Jim K sold most, around 50.

Miguel and Jim B gave them away with paint jobs.

I sell them for $130.00 and when the last ones were built I decided to
stop.

Mine were made from aluminum, and were powder coated. they are very
strong and similar to the OEM grills.

I bought enough material to build another batch but it sits and the
material is cut but not bent.

Once I bend the material, it will take alot more space that I don't
have.

If he has started to build again then that would be a good thing, just
haven't seen any announcements.

Jim K might still have some in stock.

when does Manny get back, I wonder if he'd sell his material?

I'd like to use his surround for sure, thats the biggest obstacle I have right now.

My design has a frame, and you can choose a variety of different inserts.
So you'd buy the frame and surround, the the inserts you want.

If the Manny grill gets built again, I'd be in for one.

When I spoke to him about it he said it was a space problem.
