I got the new 3.70 final drive from Jim K and had it installed. Got it back today and WOW! What a difference. I haven't driven the Pumpkin much but the performance is remarkable. Went up and down a few hills and compared to the old 3.07 it was night and day. I wasn't totally surprised, that's why I changed it, but I'm more impressed than I thought I would be. It's a different coach.

Really feel the same about the 3.55 in my '76 455. Made a huge difference especially towing. JimK has a quality product that has great upside and I haven't noticed any downside in terms of fuel economy. One of those improvements that everyone should think about if they plan to tackle anywhere with even moderate hills. One of those no-brainers if you plan to tow anything heavier than 1500lbs.

...yup, my 78 PB performs so well with Jim's 3:70's that I cant justify swaping out the 403 infavor of my "hopped up" 455...

You'll find that you might get even better result by bumping up the timing
1-2 degrees of timing as there is less load on the engine.
