Dave,

You got a lot of negative feedback ,about your idea ,of vinyl tiles.

When I did mine ,with Vinyl ,I got a lot of negative feedback also.

I installed 4" X36" Home Fashion Luxury Vinyl Tile & tile self-adhesive
from Lowe's.

It is a Wood pattern ,I didn't want to add a lot of extra weight with real
Wood.

I installed it about 7 Years ago and have been completely satisfied with it.

I does shrink a little in the cold Months but very little like a 16th of an
inch ,I installed it ,over white vinyl squares and if it were to bother me I
would just touch it up with liquid brown shoe Polish.

Just be sure and install it when the Tile and the coach floor is warm ,you
don't want it to buckle up in hot weather.

Thanks for the insight, Paul. I hadn't thought of installing when it's warm inside, but that makes sense--install in the worst possible condition to keep it from buckling up. Dang, that's a bummer, but only for a day, right?

I like the idea of your 4x36 planks--a nice, long run, seams in the right spots as if it were a real wood floor, and wouldn't weigh much, though with as little as needed in the coach, the weight wouldn't be a big deal.

Thank you again for your experience. It is very, very valuable, especially hearing about the minimal shrinking and how to mask it. That's great news to me.

Dave, We put 12X12 slap and stick vinyl tiles in after I ruined the high dollar floor doing engine R&R. They did stick OK and stuck better over time. When the carpet gets bad enough I'm going to tile the whole floor except the steps and cockpit and get throw rugs.
