Hello-
I need to replace the door lock cylinder on my '74 Sequoia. It is a smaller cylinder and key than the later years, apparently, and I would be happy to make the hole in the door bigger and put a "real" GMC vehicle door cylinder in there. Do you have suggestions regarding this, and/or a good part number for a cylinder (full size, or an original-size one if that is best)? Thanks.

Chris,
Let me look through my old parts. I might have one to spare.

Larry-
Thank you for your quick reply. I searched old GMCnet messages and saw that you replaced your lock cylinder a couple of years ago and may have got one of these smaller ones that did not fit your coach. Let me know.

I'll look tonight. I bought a lock cylinder from Tom Hampton in Ohio - it was the Kenworth one that almost certainly works in the older style door. I also received a lock cylinder from a generous Canadian GMC'ers who no longer posts here. Finally I bought one from Michael Bozardt when he had the GMCRECS. I should have just what you need - now if you don't hear from me by Friday call 9-1-1. I'm probably stuck in the garage!
