We are spending our second night in Niagara on the Lake. Todau we toured
several wineries then headed into the city centre for lunch. Jim had
Moosehead beer with his even bought the glass. While there the clouds
opened and provided a torential downpour.
We managed to get in some shopping before returning to our campsite which
was flooded in many areas. By 5pm the rain stopped and we all sat down to
cheese, crackers and some of the fine wine. However Glenn stuck to his beer.
Another awesome dinner eaten at our picnic table to candlelight.
Sauteed vegies, bar b q pork loin, bar b q salmon, potato salad and steamed
beans. No room for desert.
Tomorrow we do the tour of Niagara Falls, heli ride and Maid of the Mist.
Then back at night to ser it lite up.
Another night and Jim and Judy head to home through the States while the
rest of us head for Kingston, Ont.
Having a great time

I worked on the elevators on Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls. 1965-66. Good view of the Falls from there.

If you are stopping in the Kingston area make time to go and see Boldt Castle it is worth the time to see. You can get to it from both sides of the border but remember to bring your passports as it is located on the US side.

Dwayne we've been reading your updates with envy. Sounds like your trip
has made some great memories for all of you. We really enjoyed Quebec and
the St. Lawrence Waterway and the Quebecois influence. If you like it as
much as we did, you may want to stay more than two days. Enjoy! Sandra

I am not working on either Thursday or Friday and live on the west side of Montreal. There is a KOA just before you get into Montreal, about 20 miles from downtown and 5 miles from a commuter train that will take you right into town to do your exploring I can help,a bit. Give me a call when you get close there is a flying j in Lancaster Ontario just before the Quebec border fillup there gas is 1.42/ liter here. Here is a link to the KOA.

Send me an email when you get settled or give me a call I will send you my #s by email

That sounds great! We should be into the Montreal area early afternoon.
Because the others have a dog on board we try to make a pit stop every hour
and half to two. Gives the drivers time for their pit stop.
Travel has bee realtively easy except for when we follow the GPS verbatum.
I did today coming through Toronto on the QE and should have stayed on the
Don Valley to connect to the 401, however the other woman (GPS) gave a
shorter route (but much longer time wise) and to top it off the others
followed me. There is a time to depart from the leader. When we stopped
on this alternative route for a pet pit stop I dropped back and let the
great Glenn lead. Sandy stays in the middle and follows intensly.
We were all sorry to see Jim and Judy depart this morning on their way back
to Oregon. What a great time we had together - like I really did get to
like him - a lot. Sharon and Judy - now when those two get out of the
coach and there's shopping close by - the're gone and returning later with
either painted toenails or bags on goodies in hand. Judy gets along with
everyone, she's a gem.
We are in the Restaurant business and all of us have gone out to places to
eat only to be disappointed. The meals we as a group have put together for
breakfast, lunch or dinner puts the majority of restaurants to shame.
The last 2 days in Niagara on the Lake were spent touring several wineries
for tasting experiences and several purchases - many disappeared with the
evenng meal. Yesterday we toured Niagara Falls and boarded the Maiden of
the Mist for a soaking experience - awesome.

So now looking forward to Montreal and some great food. I figure you would
know a place or two that would go beyond our expectations.

Will call before we get too close.

Best regards
