I am posting here because I have been told that the e-mail readers don't get the swap meet items.

I am hoping to get the Thetford flange out of a scrap black tank.
Just the flange. It could be hacked out by any possible means.
It should fit in the small flat rate box or even smaller.

I am still working on a manufactureable adapter.
I have the dimensions, but every time I get a chance to look at this part (don't ask) I realize there are issues that I have missed.

The hope is to design one that can be used with a minimum of modification (hoping for none at all) and can be installed easily while one is lying on his back under a jacked up coach. I can tell you it won't be a cheap part, but the combined cost of an adapter and a Valterra valve would still be attractive - if I can get it right.

Does Johnny Bridges have one in the SOB he is sending to the landfill? How about Kerry Pinkerton? He was parting out a '76.

I have one in my black tank but I'm hoping the tank is good and wouldn't want to cut it up if it is.

Matt, my SOB has a Thetford installed, and I'm about to pull lack and gray tanks.  Would the flange be the same?

Johnny,

If SOB has a Thetford dump valve, then yes, it will probably be the flange that I want.

If it has a white dump valve and the flange has four posts where the fasteners for the dump valve thread in, then it is.

Are you scrapping the coach? Tanks are kind of expensive to throw away.
=> SAVE the valve. Even if it is the wrong valve for a GMC, clean and save at least the internal parts as Thetford parts are expensive.

Thank you for thinking of me.

Scrapping the coach, my boss is getting the tanks and pump for a rainwater recovery system he's building.  So hopefuly the flange won't be needed.

If anyone wants - this isn't a freebie - make me an offer on the rest of it.  78 Itasca 27', built on a P30 chassis.  85K 350 4 bolt engine, nicely seasoned.  Cottman rebuilt THM-400.  Great engine to build into a round track motor.  Box on it is junque from leaks.  Also has an older ac/lp fridge.  looks rough, rworks.  Won't go through the coach door.  FRee for the removing.   A already got the propane tank.

Matt-

I just saw this discussion, and as Terry Taylor mentioned, I cut out the
flange from my old holding tank a few years ago and kept it (at least
for a while). Let me know if you do need it, and if so, I will look for
it here.
