Now that I have the coach running, I'm about to transplant the 3" stainless steel exhaust system and headers from the parts coach.
I see a lot of talk about the gaskets that run through the frame. I'm not clear on the issue.
What else should I be looking out for?

Dolph,
Here is a photo showing the silicone donuts that hold the exhaust. Sometimes they have been removed (although very early 73's did not have them) and sometimes the donuts are bad.

The frame at the rear may interfer with the final pipe and it's unusual curve.
Some coaches the crossmember just in the area of the bogies has an angle metal piece that has to be filed down to allow clearance for the 3 inch pipe.
And at the front, where the Y pipe makes the turn down the side, it can be a close fit and you may need to slightly relieve the frame to avoid a rattle.

Are those donuts something I pick up at a local auto parts, or from our cadre of loyal suppliers?

Dolph,
Yes, there are two, if original -- JimK now stocks but I had to buy from Cinnabar when I did mine. BTW, JimK also has new holders for the donuts. They are made from silicone and are a specialty item.

speaking of jimK, threading:
As time goes by, i realize how wonderful it is to have jimK and jimB around here. I still have to send money to JimB for something but
it is harder to order without the automatic ordering shopping basket on the stie. JimB needs to get that on his site if possible if possible it is easier to have
a few drinks and shop like michael jackson drunk on the shopping channel the way it is with jimK. I am working to hard right now to focus but i will order
something from jimB soon as possible when i can get around to it. I love that couch that folds out but i need the bunks i have for the band when we tour.
Sorry big jim, i have been to busy, i have given jimK about a grand and a half soon as the digi-panel comes in. THanks rob for getting that together.
I hope someone out there likes me, it is hard to sneek into the office of the warden here and use the computer when they are at lunch.
