I tried to send this Monday, but somehow, it just didn't work.
So here's another shot at it, but considerably shorter.
My Weekend trip was relatively uneventful (GREAT Race, though!!)
Total miles: 618
Total gas purchased: 62.2 gallons (more in tank after trip than when I started by about 3 needle widths)
I keep close watch on my fuel usage due to only running 1 - 25 gallon tank.
Onan Usage: 10.3 hours (mostly for battery charging, only 3 hours of roof A/C usage)
Speed: Tried to keep steady at 60mph, but gave up on the return trip and basically kept at 65-70 (return trip of 309 miles took exactly 5 hours to the minute, even with a gas stop (no I didn't get any bad gas) and a 'pit' stop). Never exceeded 75.
FleetPower 1000W Inverter/Charger worked very well in handling the portable refrigerator and the stereo system, using 1 -12v 125ah battery. I had to change out my starting battery with my other 125ah deep cycle/starting battery due to a bad cell, otherwise the Onan wouldn't have been needed as much.
Onan ran very nice (sounds like a low speed turbine outside, almost can't hear it inside coach). Onan Ignition is the older style Pertronix conversion, with newer plugs, wires, and coil, with synthetic oil.
455 ran OK with the 10% ethanol gas. It usually gets closer to 11mpg when I can get non-alcohol gas. Oil usage (again synthetic) was about 1/4-1/3 quart as shown on dipstick reading (didn't add any). Coach didn't ride quite as smooth as normal due to my decision to increase the air pressures to 63 front and 50 rear (remember, this is a 23'), I normally run 60 front and 45 rear as per the Michelin Tire load chart. I was surprised how sensitive it is to the pressure changes. The Bilsteins all round still did a nice job of control, though. Driving is still mostly a 1 handed operation.
Use of EdgeStar portable refrigerator was due to rebuilt cooling unit NOT working very well on Dometic RM660.

I actually had another 23' coach (a side bath Birchaven), but I determined it would need too much work to get it road worthy, so I donated it to the Co-op. Jim B. gladly accepted that coach and used it for the Duramax conversion. Dave Greenberg actually asked me (jokingly, of course) if it was my intention at the time to buy all the 23's. My brother Mike used to have a '76 Palm Beach, but has since sold it. His spare Toronado engine is the one that went into Arch's coach as the Koba.

Nice to see another northern Illinois coach. It doesn't seem there are that many around here. I live right by O'Hae Airport, but don't know any other owners around here other than John Lebetski, and he's moving up to your area.
Have you seen or met the person that has a coach along Highway 50 east of Lake Geneva, WI.? I've driven by there many times, but have ever seen anyone home, so never met the owner.

My '23 CanyonLands' drive train is very stock. Still running Quadrajet and points with 3.07 differential. Running Load Range 'D' 8.75R16.5 tires on stock rims (Radial rated). I cleaned and tuned the carb, and recurved the distributor myself (still smokes the front tires if needed). Running Reflex gaskets on stock manifolds with 2.5" exhaust. The interior is close to stock, but with several changes. The front seats (Dark Blue Leather) came from 2 different Chrysler New Yorkers, and are mounted on the stock pedestals. The counter top, underseat doors, and front sofa were redone by the Previous Owners (Peter & Carol Brown of Texas). Roof A/C is still original Armstrong Caravan. Front A/C is running Duracool and works OK. Original BuzzBox was replaced with the FleetPower Inverter/Charger so I get 1000W of AC when needed, and it's a 50A smart battery charger when AC is available. Using AOPEC smart combiner to keep all batteries charged regardless of charging source. R
ear vent was replaced with Fantastic Vent (works very well). Running mostly Flourescent and LED lighting inside. Bosch H4 7" headlights from a Mercedes work extremely well with stock 55/60 bulbs.
As far as 'finding' Y'all, I guess you could call me a 'Lurker'.
I've been on the GMCList and Black List for quite a while.
Even managed a couple of rescues when needed (The JP Winger/Miriam Clancy Coach, and the Bill Taft Coach stranded in Wausau due to the clogged fuel filter).

I also go past that coach on Hwy 50 at least once a week. I seem to remember talking to the owner about 15-16 years ago when I got my 1st one, but not recently.

You mentioned a front sofa. What do you have in the back? Rear gaucho? Permanent bed? Dinette?
