These things really save batteries, frustration and they also save on blood
pressure medication.
They used to be available everywhere in Canada but I haven't seen them in
quite a while. My last one I had saved for my Porsche, and it's still
sitting on my bench..ready for instal. It's been 2 years now and I've had
to be boosted twice!
Just a slow learner I guess..<VBG>
A great and inexpensive idea!

there are some things that cost nothing,
and
mean everything,
thought I would start to post some of them -- again
like
Onan primer switch
- no wires
- no mount problems
- no cost
- invaluable
http://gmcmotorhome.info/onan.htm
oh - and hug your Onan once a month
run it, and make sure it still works

I have been installing these on every car and truck I owned since 1965. When automatic headlights came in they were no longer necessary. Then My daughter got a Honda Fit this year without automatic headlights and the first day I had it here I left the lights on because I am use to the automatic ones now. The next day I installed an alarm. I even have one on my airplane master switch after leaving it on one time at Indianapolis International all day. It was winter time and I had to find someone to jump start my airplane on a snowy ramp.
One word of warning. Test the alarm before you install it. Some of them can not be heard by older people because the frequency is too high. I have one on my GMC turn signals that I no longer can hear. I need to remember to replace it with an SonAlert.

Gary is currently on the road, but should be home today.
but
he has offered to bring some kits to the TI rally if you give him a call.
the beauty of the the GMC is, someone has already, been there and done that
and when they supply kits , we do not have to travel that road again, and
spend time re-inventing the wheel and we can GET-ER-DONE.
*
Alarms for the headlights* required 2 install versions for:
- old and new GMC's
- done
*
Alarms for the turn signals* required 2 install versions for:
- 3 wire clickers
- 2 wire clickers
- done
These alarms are only to provide:
- no power used
- easy attach points
- not to run all the time
- nuisance sound to nag you to turn off
- work best on the co-pilot
- "TURN OFF DAMM THE LIGHTS" ;>)
so if you wait to design your own,
- GOPHER IT
- it will never happen
- like the *Onan primer switch* (right GaryBv)?
like the:
- *Neutral Start Safety Switch*
http://goo.gl/tMGlN
AND
http://minniebiz.com/gmcmotorhome/2011/05/22/how-to-jumper-the-park-neutral-safety-switch/
- Problem will happen to every GMC (sometime)
- simple jumper fix (defeat protection)
- simple "remote start switch"(retain protection)
- could be adjusted with "lots of work"
- or a hard-to-get part
- or fix-it-all-the-time
-
simple fixes are the best
