cool idea, pretty too. I've often thought it'd be fun
(albeit expensive) to outfit a sprinter van.
Anything that requires you to set up and tear down the
(usually uncomfortable) bed every time you stop is a non-starter
for us though. We have a sportsmobile van that we loved, but the
bed thing got real old, real fast. There's just about zero storage
in it too. We'll probably sell it soon because we don't use it
now that we have the GMC.
You also wouldn't be able to stealth camp in it the way you
can a regular van since you'd be forced to work the slide-out
every time. I think it ends up as something a bit too
small and awkward to be comfortable, but a bit too big,
complicated and heavy to be really easy to drive/park.
just my $.02.

I rode in a Sprinter mororhome (as I recall it was a Mercedes chassis)once about 2 years ago and it rode like a log-wagon. I was sitting in the rear and going over a speed bump in a mall parking lot was almost painful.

If I lost the GMC, I'd be tempted by an old VW bus.
but maybe, id get some sense and convert a modern mnivan in a similar style to the VW, that would be pretty cool.
Especially if you could retrofit some barn doors on the side!
