Regarding using PEX for your plumbing upgrades;
I have one of the expensive crimp tools that I can bring to
the Treasure Island (SF) rally in October.
If anyone could use it there let me know and I will bring
it with me to the rally.

Steven,
As Sully has posted it is cost. The average cost of a SB Fittings
taking high and low price depending on types is about $9 per fitting.
Figure that you could use 15 to 20 or more that gets real pricey as
compared to a crimper and clamps. You can find crimper kits on an
average for about $50 or less depending on how many features that you
get. The one that Richard pointed out is a very nice kit for 3
sizes. Granted the SharkBite can be taken apart which can be nice.
When I did the PEX redo in the bath sink area of the stretch I ended
up using 8 fittings that cost me close to $75. If your doing a whole
coach it could get pricey very quick. Granted their may be a
situation where a SharkBite will be a real help. JMHO!
