To all and Ken H,
Is there a diagram like this for a '78 Royale? Our coach doesn't have 3 connections on the "temperature valve" as shown in the schematic - only 2 - no 'white'
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/type-ii-dash-air-condition-modification/p19228.html
ALSO, where is the defroster 'vacuum actuator' actually physically located - the one with the yellow and blue vacuum lines attached to it in the lower right corner of the linked schematic
Thanks
John

I asked the same question about a month ago and got this answer. I think you'll also find the answer to your second question in this PDF as well.

see page 1B - 25
If this is yours -- the water valve is operatied by a pink line.

thanks Dennis,
I have a manual, but it covers the early version control panel with 3 hoses at the temperature vac switch.
My later version has only 2 hoses.

John,
As far as I know, that color diagram, which I colored, is the only one
for any model. There should be a similar diagram in the '77/'78
manual though -- you can color it for posterity. :-)
Regarding the defrost valve, try going here:
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/u40-kenhenders.html
Open my album "New Dash Panel". The first photo, that shown in the
index, should show the underside of the '76 OEM dash. For me, it
doesn't work -- of the 139 photos reportedly there, only 76 actually
appear, NOT including that one.
If you can't see that photo there, I can send it to you direct. It
shows the Heat/Defrost damper diaphragm immediately to the driver's
side (right in the photo) beside the center dash duct. In other
words, it's darned near impossible to reach with the dash installed.
Hopefully it's different for '77 & '78.
