I could not believe just how quiet the Whisper King pump is!
I am debating installing a large filter next to the accumulator. We have a small tap on the side of the kitchen sink that has a
water filter so I'm wondering if there's anything to gain by installing a large one. When we hookup to city water it wouldn't filter
the water anyway.
Yes Gene I am aware of your mantra "never hookup to city water!" ;-)

Gene,
The area were the pump and valves are located are very accessible from
inside the coach. Just lift the mattress and the panel where the pump
and stuff is located at and you can get right to it easily.

Rob, Using the Vacuum apparatus from our favorite store (HF), and a drain connection, I am able to get every bit of water out of my Avion system. I connect the drain to the hot water heater, then a hose to one of the inlet ports on the vacuum device. I connect the air compressor to the other inlet port, a drain hose to the outlet port, and just turn on the air compressor. Believe me, it will suck out all of the water from the water lines. I let it run overnight and seal it back up in the morning. Protects it during the Northern Virginia winter season.

I removed the tin outer body, to cut down on the space needed to store it. At $15 bucks or so, try it.

Tom,
Your email motivated me to go to the Avion Owners Manual and read Section III - Protection from Freezing. I had read it before but
it never sunk in! What impressed me was Step 2. "The lines in your motorhome have been installed with a slope to permit gravity
draining." I wondered why they were so wonky and was going to straighten them out! Glad I never got around to it.
Looks like my involved procedure and your vacuum procedure are superfluous! Or as they say; "if all else fails READ THE
INSTRUCTIONS!" ;-)

Rob, Interesting that they were installed with a built-in slope. Unfortunately, P.O. have rearranged things and plumbing is one of them. Don't ask about the electrical changes.

I have had a Whisper King for about 15 years. It was great. Last year it stopped giving good pressure. I took off the pump front where there are three valves controlled by a wobble plate. The rubber had a small crack. I ordered a new part from the Internet and it was just like new and working great again. I am sure that we put many more hours on our pump that the average GMCers because of all the trips we take. We also never hook up to water. We prefer to fill out tank and use the water pump. That way we won't get flooded in case the city (or campground) water pressure is too high and breaks a connection inside the motorhome.
I agree that is is a whole lot quieter than the regular Shiurflow pump.
