What is the thoughts on a external trans filter? I have a external cooler and fan and i thought i would add a filter. Any thoughts Pro or Con?
Ex Avion now looking for a 23'

I've had them & not had them. With and without dedicated electric fans on
them. Frankly, they never made much difference that I could tell when
watching the gauges, both out of the converter and in the pan. But it's
hard to duplicate conditions for really valid comparisons.
For the past 5-6 years I've used only a Toronado towing package
transmission pan (it's like an OEM pan with the bottom dropped 3/4" or so
and 12 each 1/2" tubes run fore & aft through that section).
At any rate, appendix 8-1 here has some interesting information (just
remember that it's about a Chevy 454 with a 4L80 transmission):
