Is there a vacuum hose diagram for the various vacuum hoses on a ’76 455? I’ve looked through the maintenance manuals, searched the forum, and the photosite without success.

That did it. I found out why my engine was running so poorly after the cold-start backfire. Thanks to this fantastic group of brains it was, indeed, the vacuum line. I had capped the vacuum line that went to the cruise control a long time ago, but the cap must have blown off with the backfire!
Once I put a new cap on that vacuum port she purred like the big cat she is.
