Got a quick glance of a tan maybe some brown, probably 26 footer just
north of Anchorage AK today Tues 7-3 in the early afternoon.
It was parked in a short distance to the east of Hwy 3.

Anyone know of someone poking around this part of the country???

The Smith & the Edwards are anxious to know!!

Good to see that you guys made it to Alaska, hopefully without any incidents.

I've no idea, but a good memory for me is that we saw more GMC's on the
road while in Alaska for a couple of months in 2000 than we've seen at
random in the lower 48 during the other 13 GMC years. It's a popular place
for GMCers -- and the reason for my original purchase.

Don't miss the "Top of the World Highway".

When we were in AK in '05 we met Klondys and Sarafin Bailey who had a
tan/gold GMC with dog team scene on the sides. They live in Homer. If you
see them, say "hi" for us. A nice, friendly, welcoming couple, as were
most Alaskans we met. Hope you are enjoying the "last frontier". Sandra

Richard, did you and Stan take the GMCs to Alaska? Man, have fun and take pictures. You two deserve a great time there.

Hi Dan

Richard and Stan and, I believe, 4 other motorhomes (not all GMCs) are on the trip.
Michelle and I were invited to join but we are in the process of moving from Santa Fe to Colorado so we had to decline.
I may not get another chance like that in my lifetime so I am a bit unhappy.

Alaska is the only state that I haven't been in and my GMC has been in all but Hawaii and Alaska.
I suspect that we will have to fly in and take a cruise and perhaps a train trip sometime in the future.

Stan has been sending some great pictures to the GMC Mountainaires.

There are 4 rigs total, 2 GMCs, 1 SOB and 1 Travel trailer. We think
this is about the right number for caravaning here. The road side
pulloffs are small (sometimes we fill them up) the campground are
small and it is hard to get parked close together.
We are see great scenery, lots of wild life and are having below average temps.

Thanks, Richard. I know that we had been talking about 6 at one time but that might have included me and someone else.

I hope that Stan and your GMC is holding up and running fine. Did you get your tranny overheating problem sorted out before you left?

I followed Stan over the 'Top of the World' road, there was NO wind
and he left a dist trial over the road for at least a mile. Yuk
Will look for a GMC in Homer when we are there in the next few days.

Changed the tranny just before we departed, thanks to Larry's help.
The other tranny would have never made it. They have a lot of 8 & 10
percent grades up north here. The old tranny is hanggin in, gettin a
little hot on the steep grades but nothing excessive.

Emery did you get your tranny installed???

Richard;
Are there instances when you feel the need to "rub the back of your neck" to help the situation??? VBG

Bob - I have not felt the need as yet, I saw the red rash on the back
of your neck at the last Intl and it scared me.

We did find the Yellow GMC, that Stan saw in Fairbanks, it was parked
on the Homer Spit!! But now one was there.

Then that Yellow GMC found us in Seward as we where leaving this AM,
the owner is Dave Greenfell of Kingford Michigan, anyone know him??
Seems like a nice guy. Was towing a boat attached to an ATV, very creative.
