My son wants to borrow our GMC for a week long vacation with his family. I have no problem with letting him borrow it but he is wondering about all of the things he needs to know/learn before taking her in the road. I will, of course, go over the basics with him and introduce him to the owners manual, and give him a copy of the "Basic information for the GMC motorhome copilot" from the Eastern States site, but I'm wondering if there are some other "Tips" documents I should make available to him.
Suggestions welcomed.

Above all -- make sure he knows what the normal readings are for the temp and oil pressure gauges. As a new owner I was surprised to learn that the 1/2 mark on the OEM temp gauge was TOO HOT.

Bill,
I think providing him with a copy of the Operating Manual and "requesting"
that he read it before he drives it would be a good idea and a reasonable
request.

I had not seen the document "Basic Information for the GMC Motorhome Copilot." I did a quick look at it. Even though the title sound like something for the "driver" in the right seat (In US anyway...), I thought it was pretty good. (Eastern States always seems to have "good stuff.")
It talked about using the corner of the dash gauge pod on the center-line but did you know the WHOLE POD works well also? Drive with the dash pod centered on the available lane.
It does mention to "Drive into a turn before turning." but doesn't say why: Due to the driver being over the front wheels rather than behind them.
Western states has a similar document: "WHAT EVERY GMC OWNER SHOULD KNOW"

neither document is really for a non- GMC'er using someone else's coach. but good information can be found on both.
If you use either document, you should really customize it to match your coach and wishes. (For example, I would have to line out the part about 1/2 on the temp gauge is to hot. -- I replaced the sender and it reads correctly.)
Another thing: Send along a copy of Rob's guide on being towed... just in case.
I hope we do not put so much information that it causes information overload.... and scares off potential new owners.

If I were you assuming he isn't used to driving a wide vehicle. Take him on a test drive and make sure he knows to keep the coach evenly between the white lines in both mirrors. Most folks tend to crowd the right side.

biggest advise i received was to look far down the road as we drive,
it allows me to anticipate lane changing and etc. getting to speed is slow, but real easy to stay there.
black list?
when filling gas tank, i set nozzel to as slow as it will go, then i use infa red temp gun to check anything i can find to point it to. gas fills slow, but i have not had gas splash on me.. not yet .
if your water heater works like mine, warn him how hot the water gets.

I let my son drive mine 6 miles too the beach when I lived in Huntington Beach Ca. He was 30 at the time, I had to keep telling him to move left or you'll hit the parked cars. That is the last time he would drive it I am happy to say.

Brian,
The first trip we took in Double Trouble I scared the beJesus out of Helen
cause I kept running close to the side of the road. No matter how hard I
tried I kept doing it.
When we got to Knoxville we visited with Chuck and Cathy Boyd. Chuck is a
retired big rig driver and has a collection of Harleys. He told me to drive
my GMC like I drive my Harley, look down the road as far as possible and
point the GMC in that direction.
When we pulled out for our next point I followed his instructions and he was
right! I still run a bit close to the side of the road from time to time but
the number of screams has dropped off significantly!
