Pat and I left home in NW Ohio for the work rally at the Miller’s “compound” in Hamilton, Oh on Friday morning. It was a miserable day, weather wise. Cold, overcast, and sometimes raining. We met up and caravanned with new GMC owners, John and Debbie Pryzbylek from Swanton, Oh. They had their dog, “Riley” with them, and also Matt Collie. Matt, from Michigan, was hitching a ride with them because of his recent coach problems.
On Friday afternoon, Bob Burkitt got a call from John and Candice Armstrong (and dog “Bear”, from Lancaster, OH) that they were stranded in their GMC on the Interstate some 40 miles east of Hamilton - no gas, maybe no spark. They were finally able to get the coach going, with the help from a can of Ether, and they arrived around dark.
The weather on Saturday and Sunday was much better and pleasant. John Armstrong, Matt Colie, and Paul Lehman, and various other “onlookers” spent most of the day R & R’ing John’s fuel tanks. They found a burned fuel sender in one tank, and corrected some other problems, including replacing the fuel pump.
Jon Payne and his friend, Luis, and Jon’s father-in-law, Don (previous owner of Jon’s coach) were there, and they worked on his dash a/c. Ron Bolser came for the day in his Tracker. And Tom Beredino (sp) also attended – he lives about seven miles from the Millers.
Once again, our hosts, Jim and Nancy Miller, and son James Miller were as gracious as ever - the food was terrific, and the ability to use the ‘pit’ in their neighbor’s commercial building was again very much appreciated! All in all, another great get-together!

Thanks for the write-up, John, and the other support you provided for the rally. Hope everyone had a good time.

For those that didn't follow the entire story, here is the important part....
The Armstrongs arrived at home without a hitch.
(Yes, I got that dirty in the pit.)
Note to others changing pick-ups and sending units:
While the new part is out of the tank. Mark the connections. They may not be the same as the part you took out.
In John's case, the "individual" that worked on his new IP, apparently put straight 12V to the fuel senders. We only took out one, but it was completely fried. He at least now has a working sender in the main tank.
It was a great time. Maybe I can have a coach there next year.

This was our first GMC rally since acquiring a '76 Eleganza II last fall but it won't be the last! We were welcomed by the Miller's as if we were family, having Matt join us for the trip was very beneficial with his breathe of knowledge on GMC coaches and with John and Pat leading the way, we were able to reach Hamilton without the benefit of a GPS. It was a pleasure to meet all the participants, look at their coaches and learn a great deal in a short period of time. Thanks to all who looked over our coach when we were in the pit and point out a few things requiring attention.
Thank you, Jim, Nancy and James for your gracious hospitality and willingness to share your weekend with us. Hope to see you next year!

Sorry that we couldn't make it this year. Other things and vacation plans
got in the way.
We are now in Oklahoma City at a campground called Council Road RV Park.
It's not anything to write home about so I won't. Someone with a tractor
and a blade could help smooth out the gravel driving lanes. But, I guess
that would cut into the profits of running a park for full-timing 5th
wheelers.
By the way, we made it in town in time to hear the news about the Oklahoma
City Thunder. Big crowds are expected for Tuesday's game.

Good morning, Byron.
If you are not satisfied at Council Road,
you might take your towd a mile to the
east and check out Rockwell RV Park.
This park is on Rockwell, just south
of I-40 and on the east side.
