How long does it take y'all to air up the "air bags" or whatever that are called.....

That depends on the system on your particular coach. I have a late 78 with the Electrolevel II system which is slower to air up than the earlier coaches. From full down to full up I'm estimating close to 2 minutes. From full up to full down is about 1 minute or a bit less.

You may be timing from a dead empty -- on an original configured 73, filling your reservoir tank plus the air bags -- 5-7 is not unrealistic. 15 -- may be time to rebuild the air compressor or fix leaks. But someone may have replaced your compressor with a small unit. Without knowing what you actually have there is not a right answer.

Rebuild or replace the pump. That is rediculous, but common for a coach with a bad pump.
JumK can sell you a rebuild kit.
