How do you check bearing temp and what should it be.

SIR; usually you look for comparitive readings, should be all bout the same, shoot hubs for bearings, rotors and drums for brakes, other stuff, thermostat housing, radiator, hot water in sink, exhaust manifolds, mufflers, ac temp.

John,

It could be, but without knowing when and where.....

It would be for a from disk after a highway hard stop.

It could be for a front bearing after a highway run.
It could be for a rear drum after the down side of RT 30 EB.

It would not be for a disk that coasted to a stop.
It would not be for a rear rear bearing.

You need to get some experience with the device and use it to compare as much as possible so it can tell you if something has changed and maybe needs attention.
