Hey All;
So Diana and I are sitting at the ArchView RV Resort just outside
of Moab, UT. I'm reading the GMCnet and suddenly Diana says "There's a
GMC pulling in". I look out the window, and sure enough there is a red
GMC pulling into one of the sites. I jump up and go over to see it
just as 4 guys fall out it. They are having a BLAST! One of them
purchased it in Denver ($2000) and he and his buddies are taking it to
Burbank where a friend is going to build it to make a run at the Land
Speed Record for Class-A motorhomes (we know who holds the record now)
this August at Bonneville. Beers were opened and now they are trying
to get the Onan working so they can have AC for the next couple of
days. Britt Palmer (PalmerDesignsLTD.com) the owner has already
replaced all of the brake lines and has installed the TSM rear disk
brakes. He already knows about JimB, JimK, MannyT, and Cinnebar. He is
having a 800hp 572ci installed, lexan engine cover (told them they
need to talk to DanG). He wants a 1-ton frontend. Told him Manny has
them and can build the trans for it. Anyway, here's a video of it as
it sits today. Rough shape, but it's running. It's a 77 with
TZE167V101002 (is it in the registry??). Owner's name is Britt Palmer.
His friends are Rob, Steve, and Alex. Gotta go. I have a bottle of
Wild Turkey to give them...

I like the simplicity of red, black, and just a touch of silver. I wonder
if they'll keep the theme.
I'm looking forward to their setting a new record with the 572 @ 800.
That's a strong contender. With a Manny Tranny it should move along well.
Wild Turkey? That's a Kentucky farmer's blend of iced tea, I do believe.
Made just 65 miles from me in Lawrenceburg on a beautiful stretch of US 68.

I love it, this is the sort of support and excitement that will keep out classic coaches on the road and in front of the public. The last works Gary Berry said "These guys are nuts"== yea man, go for it. That's right, they are hey but you are too-- we all are and what's your point! I hope they do call me, I would love to be involved in their plight. I love that RF custom red duct tape body work and using a hand held can opener on the pass. side is a new approach to body work! Who says a turd can;t be made to shine-- and red at that! I do hope they keep their enthusiasm in tact, they have a long journey! But a fun one and as soon as I can get this gout behind me I'll hoist my brew high in the air for them too!
There is no reason the current LSR record cannot be beaten and it would not take a 572 cid to do it. Bet we can do it with a 455-- no problem! If I can hit 90 mph with my "dumpster" coming back from thatMariposa rally, towing that flat bed trailer loaded with the upright compressor, tools, parts and 3 drunk, cigarette smokn, red neck mechanics down a 2 lane road in the middle of the night in Texas-- put me in coach...
This is the kind of blind devotion to fun we all should have-- 3 cheers for enthusiasm...

The Elijah Craig distillery is closer to you, and has better Bourbon. After all, he invented the stuff.
