Our coach never had a central vac, but due to a very generous person here,
I'm now the extremely happy owner of a working original. Now how to install it...

I've looked all over, and can't find a single picture or diagram of the main
vacuum box installation. All that's ever shown is the hoses and attachments
hanging in their closet by the door, and the inlet port on the wall below it.
I'm assuming the vacuum box mounts below the fridge somehow.

Has anybody got a picture or diagram of the vacuum showing where it's
originally installed?

thanks much,
Karen

I am sending pages 440 and 441 from the GMC Assembly Manual. This will go to your email address.

Hi, Karen.

"The Money Pit" originally had the central vac
but all that is left is the place on the entry
wall where the hose plugged in. We have a small
Red Devil vac that fits in the closet under the
fridge and its hoses and tubes fit quite nicely
in the locker made for the original accessories.

I suspect there might be a "parts" coach out
there whose owner might part with that outlet.

If you don't have the outlet which the hose plugs into and which then turns on the vacuum you can actually buy that at some of the home built in vacuum stores.

Search for central vacuum wall inlets.

The first site that I clicked on is this one:

http://www.thinkvacuums.com/central-vacuums/wall-inlets.htm

The second one on the page is identical to the GMC motorhome one. It is $6.95.

In the past when I was looking for a replacement I found a very nice brass metal one on someone's site.

Thanks! I've just now got it installed and am working on adding an
outlet under the fridge. I'd never have figured it out from what
little is in the maintenance or owner's manuals.

thanks!

thanks Emery; fortunately the wonderful kind person who sent me the
vac also included the wall unit and the accessories.

GMCers are the best :-)

thanks,
Karen
