I am going to re-attach the end bell to the Onan 6000NH. Is there
any advice on using the old gasket vs a liquid gasket?

Hugh,

I cannot imagine any reason that the end bell might need a gasket.
UNLESS!! It was put in there as a shim to correct the end play. If that is the case, it would be best if you left the old one right where it is.

Gasket Hint (From the guy that used to run the aftermarket of a major gasket supplier):
If you take something apart that was working and not leaking, you can put all the same pieces (including the gaskets if the did not get damaged when you took it apart) back together again and it will be at least as good as it ever was - maybe better.

If you change any part of the joint, you have a new situation.
