Where do GMC's gather and when must I get there if I want a spot?

Maybe as the weeks get closer to OSH, someone will organize some sort of get-together. I hope so. I am going to fly up there and will be in the Cessna 195 parking area but I could walk over to Camp Scholler if someone is set up there.

It is a fun time.

I'm not sure if Paul Bartz is monitoring the net but years ago he organized a fantastic spot under some great shade trees. At the time, Ken B was "off grounds" and by the time we wandered over there, he was gone. We had about 5 GMC's in one spot including Ken H's daughter in his 23 footer. We spent most of the weekend fixing it for her Smile

SURE you did! That was LONG before the Cadillac went into it! :-)

(But it still had hydraulic wipers. After she drove home, by way of
Chicago at 6PM on a Friday in a thunderstorm, she was not happy! The
hullabaloo from her and her Mom resulted in my electric wiper kit.)

I am hoping to get up there early eanough to score a Camp Scholler spot with hook-ups. Dry Camping a whole week will get old.

So what's the Oshkosh status now? It looks as if I'll be coming from
Crossville with my 15 yo grandson and MAYBE HER. Probably arriving late on
the 23rd or noonish on the 24th, dependent on when we get away from
Crossville after lunch on the 22nd.

Paul Bartz was mentioned earlier as a possible contact. I just talked to
him. His coach is STILL out of commission. He's considering bringing a
tent for a few days -- but only if the weather's cool. He won't decide
before the weather forecast firms up. He won't be reserving spaces and
setting up schedules like he did when I last went. He did say that the
area where he always camps (with a BUNCH of Canadians) is called "101 Wood"
-- near where you enter the area, but beyond Camp Scholler. It's a nicely
wooded area where the Canadians establish a large encampment complete with
a humongous "tent" to cover their dining & congregating area. It's a dry
camping area & I have no idea what the chances are of finding space there
as late as the 23rd.

Anyone got better information?
