Has anyone successfully removed the rear panel from their coach? The panel I am referring to is the rear body panel that holds the rear window and fastens to the end cap with those ugly rusted screws.

My rear panel has a crack below the window opening that will require some repair. If the panel is not too dificult to remove, I'd prefer to replace it rather that repair it.

For the front fenders, how much work is involved in separating them from the front cap/nose and can this be done and still save the nose piece and the fenders?

If these tasks are relatively easy to accomplish, I'd like to try to save the front and rear caps that Marcus has from going to the dump.

Les,

We tried on the Palm Beach rear cap. Got all the screws out and then
tried to separate the piece. It would not budge. Some of it did, but
the lower area under the window was "welded" in place by the gasket.
Tried to use piano wire to work through it, used wedges and every manner
of persuasion and it would not budge. Worked on it with Bill Gagnier
and it was not going to move. We finally gave up. Your mileage may be
different. You should have taken the rear clip to experiment on. LOL

I've had mine off several times. The first time was a bear, as you
said, rusted screws, some of which I just drilled the heads and worked
on them after I removed the hatch. When it went back on it was T-nuts
epoxied in with socket head SS screws. BTW for a seal I used 1/2"
backerbar - no signs of leaks in 3 years.

Jim, when you removed it the first time what did you do to successfully get it apart?

I would imagine careful use of a heat gun would help soften whatever is holding the parts together.
