It looks like I have snagged the appropriate vacation time to make it to Oshkosh this July and I plan to take the GMC. I may end up ferrying it up close a few weeks early so that I can fly back up and hop in and grab a good RV spot.

Does anyone know a decent RV storage spot close to either Milwaukee airport or O'Hare?

Definite bucket list item!! This is gonna be great!

Randy,

There are usually several GMCs at Oshkosh. Paul Bartz used to have a
"reserved" area for them in a convenient, shady area, but I think his coach
is still down for engine change. You might contact him: pbartz at
earthlink dot net He'll tell you everything you need to know.

Well I can't volunteer someone else but there are some of us in SE Wisc with space and some close to MKE (and one very close to Palmyra International Airport) that may be able to help so keep us posted.

I've been about 6 times since my first Oshkosh in 1975. I've camped, hoteled, dormed, stayed in a house and slept in a van, but this is the first with the GMC. I hope to know my itinerary by the middle of June.

Randy, I will email a Chicago 195 buddy to see if he can help. There are a few of us 195'ers in the Chicago area.

In any event, I assume you want to end up in Camp Scholler. When you do, if you end up in the Classic area (right along the 18-38 flightline) stop at the 195 area and hunt me down. N9883A. I will be there early in the event, actually, the Saturday before. I would like to meet you.

The dates are July 23 - 29 for the Oshkosh Airadventure. This sure sounds like a nice gathering spot, I've always wanted to attend, and this may just be the extra encouragement needed.

I am thinking that a little OSH get together would be fun. Need to avoid Wednesday night. That is the Vintage picnic, also a GREAT time. (Buy your tickets at the Red Barn in the Vintage area. ) If there are going to be some GMC's in Camp Scholler, maybe a co-operative steak fry. We can all use the head in the GMC Very Happy .

We use to go every year. Sometimes we flew in, some times drive in, and a couple of times we brought the coach. Then it turned in to the county fair became extremely expensive. So now I only go every three or four years. If I do not go to Alaska this summer, then I'll try to join you GMCers for a few days at OSH.

The last time my daughter and I went 2 years ago the air show was extremely disappointing.
