Never heard of it.

I did Google search and found:

<http://aslcamguard.com/>

The Aircraft stuff seems expensive ~ $25 Pint. There is an auto stuff it seems to be cheaper at $23 a pint. They do sell it by the case at $93. I wonder how many bottles are in a case?

For just $5 over the cost of a pint of Camguard, you
can buy 5 quarts of the Lucas high-zinc stuff that is
available in several viscosity ratings!

Which, if either or both, is snake-oil or mouse milk?

I can't speak to the Camguard stuff, but I have experience with the Lucas
products. I have a couple of old top fuel dragsters (Cackle cars) with blown
392 Chryslers that we take to various events and start them up with
substantial Nitro loads, like 80% Nitro/20% Alcohol. I have been using the
Lucas race oil for a year and it has proven superior to tolerate dilution
with the Nitro over the Rotella and/or Torco that I used previously. We have
dropped the pan on one of the cars and everything looks great.

I also wondered if it was "Snake Oil" but I have decided that Forrest Lucas
simply has a flair for marketing and that explains his success. I know for a
fact that some top Nascar teams use Lucas oil, and that Lucas staff use dyno
time here in California to test different blends of oil to determine
sufficient lubrication with the least drag on engine horsepower for these
Nascar teams. My friend at Lucas has a hand in that testing. I have been to
the Lucas headquarters here in Corona California and it is an impressive
installation with its own railroad siding.

Lucas is what Howard Cams told me to use on my 261 Chevy six flat tappet
cam.
I now have around 5,000 miles on the 261 with out a problem.
How do I know.
I'm running solid lifters and I have only adjusted them once at around 500
miles.
I know its old school.
Anyone can run a Chevy small block.
