I tried a few years back according to Louis LaPoint's formula. I did have
some success( 2mpg), but than my state required 10% ethanol blend in gas
and what gains I had was compromised by the alcohol.

2mpg on a GMC is a substantial gain. On mine from the last trip, 2mpg would be a 20% increrase. That's impressive.

Rats. What mileage do you get from it? 2mpg in the Toadstone is a wash - 2 mpg in my coach is a Big Deal.

2 mpg on a 40 mpg vehicle is still 5%. How much acetone are we talking about? If it costs me a dollar to save a dollar and a nickel, it might be worthwhile (think of a thousand dollars to make a thousand and fifty - fifty bucks is fifty bucks).
