I am no mechanic and my rear suspension will not elevate. There is barely enough air to drive down the road so I was hoping to find someone to make repairs on site. I would appreciate any info or contacts.

Jim, where are you located? Are you stranded by the side of the road? What
year is your coach? You can contact me off the Forum/GMC NET at
jamesh1296@gmail.com and I will try to help you. I am in Salem, OR. 150
miles or so from you.

That would be terry Skinner's neck of the woods. Sully of the "Sully Built" Airbags is from somewhere up there...

You might check the black list (AKA GMC assist list)
<http://www.bdub.net/Black_List/>

A good work around is a pair of 1/4 inch "tank valves." These are schrader valves (like what is in your tires) that will screw into the airbags. You then pump up the bag manually with almost any compressor... or tire pump.

OBTW: I am just over 100 miles south of you, near Portland OR.

Thanks for the response. It is not an emergency, my coach is sitting at my home just waiting to get on the road, is all.

It is a 1976 Palm Beach 26'. I really don't know how to install the schrader valves but if I had instructions with a diagram I might be able to figure it out.

Get a pair of these:

and just remove the air line at each bag and screw them in.

Nick,

If you do it this way you won't have to mess with it again.

WARNING WARNING WARNING

BEFORE you remove the lines to install those schrader valves, be sure to put something under the center support of the rear bogies or the frame.

The coach is going to drop completely down when you remove the air line. Remove the line and screw in the fittings in the place of the line.

You will need some kind of compressor or air pump capable of at least 80 to 100 PSI to fill the bags back up to your desired height. A 12 volt tire inflater will do if you do not a compressor.
http://www.harborfreight.com/12-volt-100-psi-high-volume-air-compressor-96068.html

Once you air them up to your desired height you will be able to drive the coach to any place you want to have it repaired properly.
