I'm in the process of refurbing a 76 Glenbrook and found the PO stripped the screws holding the closet latch in the door. I managed to get the latch off, but one of the screw holes already has a drill bit snapped off in it!!
I need a new latch assembly. Are they still available and if so from whom?

I got them used from GMCRECS, but they are gone. They bear a striking resemblance to the galley latches in older Boeing 737 runway sweepers.

> Sliced off the threaded boss on the back of the latch (including the cross threaded 10/32 screw remains) with the trusty Dremel. Epoxied a new 10/32 nut on the back using a washer to create the same height as the old threaded boss. Siliconed the threads of a 10/32 bolt to use as a locator. Waited about half an hour, extracted the locator bolt and voila a fully functional latch again.
