Nancy,
If you have the original fuel pump on your Onan, It has a reusable filter in it that can be easily cleaned (the bottom of the pump comes off). If there is an in-line filter it has been added and should be a standard auto parts store item.

Supposedly this type can be cleaned. Perhaps back flush with Simple Green (or similar) as a first start.

That is exactly the same filter that's in my Onan Facet pump and my airplane Facet pump. I check the airplane one once a year. The Onan one will get checked someday as I seldom use the Onan.

Same as in my just removed Onan. I have never found anything in it but it is so easy to remove that it's worth checking yearly.

I will ask Byron to update the Fire Prevention Guide on the Eastern States
website to note that the filter screen in the Onan fuel pump DON'T COUNT!
