Hi Ya'll,

I've been lurking here for a while and reading EVERYTHING.

I really want a classic, high quality FWD coach. Just trying to find the right one for my budget and ability.

But i can't understand why more attention isn't paid to the first gen Revcons?

THey have so many advantages over the GMC.

- they're considerably lighter,
- better built
- no wet bath
- the interior styling is so much more durable and attractive

I mean, the advantages go on and and this group continues to pretend they don't exist?

Anyway, they don't come up for sale very often but when i find one I'll be looking to this group for help with the drive train (they have the same Toro 455)

Hope to see you at the Spring Rally

Mate,

Because (as we say Downunder) the Flatnose Revcon is:

FUGLY

Since you probably don't speak "Strine" that's:

F#$K'IN UGLY

This group doesn't "pretend" they don't exist, we don't give a damn!

I'm surprised you note that you've been reading "everything" yet you haven't
noticed this is the GMC net; not the "Front Wheel Drive Motorhome net!

Reading your comments about the Revcon one can extrapolate the GMC is:

Too heavy
Not well built
Don't have dry baths (Edgemont models do)
The interior styling of GMC's is not durable or attractive

You insult us and our coaches and then tell us you want us to help you with
the drive train if you buy a Revcon?

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmm?

If you have indeed read "everything", and I mean *everything*, then you
would know that the occasional Revcon question comes up.
Generally, this doesn't lead to serious Revcon bashing. But if you come on
like you did... Who can tell.

Selecting a Motorhome, classic or not, is a personal decision. It has many
similarities with selecting a spouse, except you can legally have another
while you are getting ready to sell the first one.
Some things to think about...

1. Yours is better looking than all the rest.
2. You have to make some adjustments in habits and expectations when you
start sleeping in it.
3. If you insult one that belongs to someone else, there will be
consequences.
3. It will take all your earnings for the rest of your life.

So, Like Rob said, this is a GMC forum, *and*:
We think ours are better looking than all the rest,
We have made the adjustments,
We try not to insult other SOB* drivers and
No matter what you upgrade, you will get from 8-10 mpg.

Russ

*Some Other Brand: Insults, from both sides, are Par For the Course.

Yes Revcons exist. Some even look nice...

However, some of us PREFER the GMCs.

That is why we are here and not on a revcon site.

I considered a revcon, but I decided the GMC is for me.

Dan, Dave might want to know where that Junk Revcon is. Very good April Fool's Joke.

By the Way, Dave needed a rear brake drum, only source is one guy shop in California. Dave said he wants $400 for one rear brake drum. Now, don't you feel better about your GMC?

With a smile in my heart, and a fast move to Mississippi. Just cannot seem to get to the "Heart of the Dixielanders."

FUGLY? Really? I love the look. (GMC, not so much).
Revcon (John Hall)had the first idea...GMC then copied it and ran with it... to a raging success. That said, there can only be ONE first...that would be REVCON!
I love our 42 year old girl. (There were no 'Flatnose Revcons' when I worked at Revcon in '71-'74...only REVCONS - a true 'first edition'.

I suspect that 99% of us here believe the flatnose was as ugly as they came. The newer ones looked ok but kinda generic.
You are welcome here but try not convince us that you are better than us.

G'day,

As it turns out Scott is actually Dave Silva, a proud Revcon owner and this
email was his "April Fools Joke" on us and dumb ass me fell for it!
